Two people have died in a motorcycle accident near West Plains in south-central Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the victims as the motorcycle's driver, 22-year-old Lawrence Goure of Peace Valley, and his 15-year-old passenger, Miranda Prokopovich of West Plains.
The patrol says the crash happened Friday morning on U.S. 160 when Goure tried to stop for slowing traffic and crashed into the rear of a sport utility vehicle. The motorcycle then slid into oncoming traffic and was struck by a tractor-trailer.
