Cause of Brookside fire remains a mystery

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The investigation into the cause of the Brookside Apartments fire has yet to yield a cause, although the search continues.

Investigators held dozens of interviews and out in hundreds of man hours, plus consultation with detectives, the State Fire Marshal's Office and the Bureru of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

The fire, which occurred on May 27,2012 at 1221 East Walnut, started in the southeast corner of the structure.
