Update: Tuesday, July 3rd at 12:20 p.m.:

Court documents indicate the prescription drugs were issued to Laurie Ann Wilkinson. Phelps County deputies said Wilkinson gave the drugs to her boyfriend, Charles Arnold Mennemeyer, who died from a drug overdose and chocking on his vomit.

The toxicology reports indicate the drugs: Carisoprodal (a muscle relaxer), Meprobamate (an anti-anxiety tranquilizer) and Trazodene (an anti-depression medicine) were in his system.

The probable cause statement determined the cause of death to be "aspiration of gastric contents secondary to polydrug toxicity..."

Original Story:

A Phelps County woman faces a murder charge in her boyfriend's death. Prosecutors charged 43-year-old Laurie Ann Wilkinson, of Jerome, MO, with second degree murder and possession of a controlled substance.

Back in February, deputies say Wilkinson called 911, saying her boyfriend was unresponsive and possibly dead. When crews arrived, they found 23-year-old Charles Mennemeyer dead on a couch.

An autopsy found Mennemeyer choked on his own vomit. Wilkinson is in the Phelps County Jail on $250,000 bond.
