Doctors see heat related illnesses every summer.
This particular summer is overheating the region.
Ted Willmore, M.D. is spreading suggestions to avoid having to make a trip to the emergency room.
The Doctor's advice included drinking lots of water and hydrating fluids, avoiding alcohol, staying indoors and in an air conditioned space if you have one available.
Fans and opening windows are recommended for those who may not have air conditioning at their home or workplace.
Temporary stays at a friend's house or visiting a public building, like a library, during the hottest part of the day will help you stay cool as well.
