The Pulaski County Prosecutor has charged Devon Michael Cardin with one count of resisting/interfering with an arrest, a class D felony.
Cardin's bond is set at $50,000.
He is still in the Pulaski County Kail, pending the posting of bond or other court action.
Original Story:
A Taser was needed to help subdue a man when he fought police.
Two Pulaski County deputies and two members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol went to 17430 Cliff Road in Dixon, Mo., to arrest Devon Michael Cardin, 20, on Friday morning because he had failed to appear in court on a felony charge of receiving stolen property. Since Cardin had failed to appear, the warrant was a "no bond allowed" warrant.
The additional officers were included because Cardin had fled into the woods behind the home the first time deputies tried to serve the warrant.
When the deputies and Troopers confronted Cardin inside the home at approximately 7:30 a.m., he immediately assaulted them.
He was subdued with the aid of a Taser unit and appeared to be under the influence of a mind-altering drug, such as Bath Salts, according to the police report.
During the fight, one Trooper sustained a minor wound to his arm.
Cardin was taken to the Pulaski County Jail and held on the Phelps County felony warrant.
A statement of probable cause was sent to the Pulaski County Prosecutor requesting charges for assaulting law enforcement officers and resisting arrest. We will update this story when we know the prosecutor's response.
