One person is dead and three others injured after an accident Wednesday afternoon at Fort Leonard Wood.

The four people were Department of Army civilians doing maintenance on the base's railroad spur.

Two of the injured were air lifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO, where they are listed in stable condition. The third had minor injuries, and was taken to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla.

The accident is being investigated by the Army's Criminal Investigation Command.
