(AP) -- EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) -- Illinois State Police say they believe two people found dead in an East St. Louis home were victims of murder-suicide.
Authorities said Saturday that they believe 28-year-old Bennie Thomas on Friday shot his wife, 24-year-old Antoinette Blanton, and then killed himself. Their two children, a 1-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy, were home at the time. The Belleville News-Democrats reports the children were found bloodied, but not injured.
Both adults suffered single gunshot wounds to their chests. A pistol was found near the bodies.
Illinois State Police say the case is under investigation.
