Authorities were called to the 100 block of North Capistrano Drive in Jefferson City just before 10:30 Friday night by several people in the surrounding area that reported a loud "boom" that shook their homes.

A witness reported seeing an unusual car parked outside her house on the street five minutes before it happened.

After it happened, she reported smelling sulfer and seeing a cloud of smoke in the neighboring lawn.

Authorities said they believe it was the work of kids taping several types of fireworks together and lighting them. They are still investigating.
