A motorcycle crash in Montgomery County sent two people to the hospital Wednesday night.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said 46-year-old Danny Tarrants was riding his motorcycle on Route A,  about two miles east of Highway 19 when he hit a dog.

That's when the motorcycle overturned and went off the roadway.

Tarrants and his passenger, 20-year-old Ashley Hollensteiner were taken to University Hospital in Columbia.

Hollensteiner was treated and released.

Tarrants is in serious condition.
