MONITEAU COUNTY -- We now know the turkey truck involved in yesterday's crash was carrying 864 turkeys, the Highway Patrol says about half to two thirds of them died.
The patrol also said they are still investigating why Cunningham drifted into oncoming traffic. There weren't any skid marks to indicate he tried to correct his driving before the accident.
The Highway Patrol reconstruction team should have results from their investigation in a few weeks.
