A Jefferson City family is left homeless after a fire destroyed their home Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters were called around 3 pm.

When they arrived the house in the 400 block of Case Avenue was engulfed in flames.

The four kids and two adults inside all made it out safely.

Jefferson City Fire Department Division Chief, Jason Turner said,  "The first engine companies arrived on scene within about three minutes of the call and found heavy fire coming from the front of the residence. Everybody had been evacuated and accounted for".

Sunday evening fire officials said it has been ruled accidental.

They believe an electrical problem might have sparked the blaze.

The home is being called a complete loss.
