An active duty military member is behind bars this morning after police said he shot at a person in a car.

Just before 2 a.m. Wednesday a man called the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office saying he had been shot at while he was sitting in his car in Laquey.

The victim said he was waiting at a home in the 26981 block of Stunning Lane to pick someone up who needed a ride.

He told deputies when he got there 40-year-old William Bellomy came out of the home and shot at his car.

One bullet was found inside the car near the passenger seat.

Deputies surrounded the home, called the residence and gave the suspect orders to exit the home.

Bellomy left the home peacefully.

He then was placed under arrest and taken to the Pulaski County Jail.

He is charged with first degree assault and armed criminal action.

His bond has been set at $100,000.
