A diesel spill on the Grand Glaize Bridge in Osage Beach slowed traffic for hours Wednesday morning.

A strap on a logging truck came loose, and the portable fuel tank it was carrying on the back of the truck fell off.

Osage Beach Police say about 100 gallons of diesel fuel spilled onto the bridge. Crews used an absorbent sand to soak up the fuel.

Fire crews said they managed to keep most of the oil from spilling into any drains that lead to the Lake of the Ozarks. They alerted DNR of what they called a “small amount” of fuel that got into the lake.
