A man was seriously injured Wednesday morning after a motorcycle crash in Callaway County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said 61-year-old Jay Macvittie was stopped on his cycle, waiting to turn on Route J, just north of Route F.

That's when a car driven by 68-year-old John McCray hit the motorcycle from behind.

Macvittie was flown by staff for life helicopter to the University Hospital in Columbia.
