Update, 4:50 p.m.:

The court has issued a warrant withdrawal. There are now no active charges.

Original story, 10:30 a.m.:

Jefferson City Police Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of West McCarty for a disturbance call on Monday at 8 p.m.  The caller said there was a family dispute, which escalated as a male involved in the disturbance pointed a BB gun at a female with whom he was arguing.  The male suspect then drove away in a vehicle, and the female victim was unharmed.

Officers were able to obtain vehicle information and found the vehicle heading north on US 63 towards Columbia.  Jefferson City Police, in conjunction with Boone County Sheriff’s Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Ashland Police Department officers, conducted a felony traffic stop with the suspect vehicle on Highway 63 north of Ashland.

The suspect, Brandon Christopher, 18, of Jefferson City, was taken into custody for unlawful use of a weapon.  The BB gun was taken from the vehicle. A 20-year-old female passenger, who was present during the disturbance, was also arrested for hindering prosecution but later released without any charges pending.
