First Lady Georgeanne Nixon
Missouri First Lady Georganne Nixon today visited with some Boonville first graders at Hannah Cole Primary School.
The First Lady read a story to the children to kick off the 2012 Scholastic Summer Challenge.
The program promotes the importance of children reading books over the summer break.
Mrs. Nixon helped hand out donated books at the school.
Scholastic corporation officials donated 500 books to Hannah Cole students as part of the challenge.
This is the fourth year that the First fady has served as a reading ambassador for the Scholastic program.
