Columbia Police have released details about an assault KRCG has been following since late April.

Police responded in the afternoon of April 26th to an area of Range Line Street north of the Casey’s convenience store. They found a female covered in blood walking down the sidewalk.

A nearly two week investigation revealed a 34-year-old female called police and said she had been sexually assaulted in the 2900 block of Range Line Street.

She said the blood was from the assault. The victim was taken to University Hospital. Police said the investigation was delayed because the female has a medical condition that was not associated with the assault.

Police are looking for the man who assaulted the woman. Police said he is a black male, in his 30’s, 6’1’’, a thin build, with a shaved hair style.

If you have any information about this assault, you’re asked to call the Columbia Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (573) 875-TIPS to remain anonymous.

The investigation is ongoing.
