Tree falls and blocks road on West McCarty Street in Jefferson City

Friday afternoon, Jefferson City Public Works crews were working on removing a fallen tree that came down on West McCarty street around 2:00 p.m.

While no one is sure of what exactly brought the tree down, crews said no one was hurt.

There was some significant property damage, including to a couple cars.

Crews cleaned it all up within a few hours and the section of road near West McCarty Street and Havana Street is now re-open.
