If you smelled BBQ in Columbia on this rainy day it very well could have been coming from the red, white and blue BBQ. Two Mizzou fraternities (Alpha Gamma Sigma & Delta Tau Delta) partnered to put on the event benefiting Central Missouri's Honor Flight.CJ Elger from Delta Tau Delta explained, "Central Missouri Honor flight takes Veterans from previous wars and flies them to Washington DC to see the Memorials that were made for them."
For the past two years the event has raised nearly $9000 dollars to support the veteran’s travel expenses on honor flight and goes greatly appreciated.
Tommy Highbarger has flown and worked on the Honor Flight. He said, “Unless you see it, it is hard to explain but you'll never forget it the rest of your life. This generation is beginning to become aware of what these guys did for us."
The red, white and blue BBQ was only a one-day event but the Central Missouri Honor Flight is always accepting donations and you can get more information on their website
