(AP) -- One person was killed, 5 in critical condition and at least 100 were injured when a strong gust of wind blew over a tent outside a St. Louis bar on Saturday afternoon.

The tent was set up as a beer garden next to a Kilroy's bar near Busch Stadium in downtown St. Louis.

An estimated 150 people had gathered in the "beer tent" to celebrate the St Louis Cardinals' 7-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.

The tent was claimed to have been designed to withstand 90mph winds. However, an estimated five-second gust of straight-line winds blowing at an estimated 50mph shattered the tent's aluminum poles, lifted it into the air and blew it 100 feet.
