Missouri may be getting a second nuclear reactor.

Governor Jay Nixon and officials of Ameren Missouri and Westinghouse Electric are scheduled to make the formal announcement in Jefferson City today.

Nixon’s office said the announcement will be significant for energy development and economic growth in Missouri.

The only nuclear power plant in the state is here in Callaway County.
