Columbia Police are searching for the driver of a Jeep that crashed into a house.

Around 1:30 Wednesday morning, an officer tried to stop the driver for speeding on Ash Street, but the driver led the officer on a high speed chase.  The officer lost sight of the driver. Then, moments later saw the Jeep abandoned, lying on its side outside a house.

The house has severe damage to the living room area as well as the structure of the home itself.

62-year-old Rhonda Victor was sleeping in a nearby bedroom.  She was shaken up, but not injured.

Police have not made any arrests. They are still searching for the driver responsible.
