He is a self-proclaimed man of revolution and many of his followers feel he is exactly what this country needs.
Ron Paul was on the mu campus to rally his most vocal group of supporters, college students and to outline his ideas for change, like reducing the size of the federal government, and personal liberty.
Shannon Gundy is a student at MU, as well as a vocal Ron Paul supporter who is yearning for change.
“The people really want to see America restored and our liberty given back to us.” she said.
Not only the young, but the young at heart in this crowd believe in his message.
“I don't believe that he has political blood in his veins. I believe he is a conservative constitutionalist. That's why we're here today, for all of America,” says Susie Thoma, a supporter of Ron Paul from Boone County.
Despite all the talk of revolution and individual freedom, a large question still looms for many of his supporters: Does Ron Paul, a candidate who has yet to win a single state primary or caucus, have even a chance at securing the GOP presidential nomination?"
I don't believe it's just a run for president. I believe it is a revolution, and I think that sometimes revolutions take time,” says Gundy.
Paul is hoping the support he saw Thursday will translate to success in the Missouri caucuses and more momentum going down the road.
