Columbia Police are warning of thefts from cars. Police said they've taken an "excessive" amount of these reports in the past month.

There have been 22 reports of thefts from cars just in the "Derby Ridge" area of Columbia since February 13th.

Police said in most of the cases, the car were unlocked with personal belongings left inside.

They urge drivers to lock their vehicles, take valuable and confidential belongings out of the car, and try and park in a well lit area.

Police are also asking anyone with information about these cases to call crime stopppers at 875-TIPS.
