Jefferson City Police arrested a man after receiving calls of shots fired.

At about 1 a.m. Sunday Jefferson City Police Officers responded to a shots fired call in the 200 block of East Commercial Way, the alley between Bones Restaurant and the Madison Street parking garage.

When officers got to the scene, they found two spent shell casings.

During the course of the investigation, officers got information that a subject matching the description of the shooter was in the parking garage, hiding behind a pickup truck.

Officers took the 24-year-old into custody and then found a loaded handgun and a pipe typically used in smoking methamphetamine behind the truck.

The Jefferson City man was arrested and is awaiting charges for weapons possession and possession of paraphernalia.
