The Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts in Mid-Missouri wrapped up their scouting for food campaign today, where they collected food given to them by folks throughout the community.
Scouts in and around Jefferson City all met at the Samaritan Center on East McCarty, which is where they donated all of the food they collected.
According to scouting officials, they collected over 20,000 lbs of food.
A Samaritan Center Spokeman said that the Scouting for Food drive is one of the biggest sources of food for the Samaritan Center this time of year.
They believe that they Scouting for Food donations will last the center until April
