Thieves break into cars in an airport parking lot

Thieves broke into more than 60 vehicles in an employee parking lot at St. Louis Lambert Airport and a nearby hotel.

The thieves smashed windows and took items from about 20 vehicles at the private American Airlines employee lot and about 50 vehicles at the Renaissance Airport hotel early Thursday.

Witnesses told police four men in a white van committed the crimes.

Police later recovered a stolen van that may have been used in the break-ins.
