Two men are behind bars after a high speed chase

Two people are behind bars this morning after high speed chase that started in Fulton and ended near Columbia.

Around 8:30 p.m. Fulton Police located a stolen car out of Jefferson County.

When officers tried to stop the driver, he sped off, which started a pursuit.

Fulton police used spike strips to stop the car around Route WW, just outside of Columbia city limits.

Police immediately arrested Mitchell E. Simmons II and Michael A. Miller.

Police are seeking charges against Simmons II for tampering with motor vehicle, resisting arrest, fleeing and causing substantial risk to others, possession of a controlled substance, and many more traffic charges.

Police are also seeking charges against Miller for tampering with a vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.
