Update: Wednesday Feb. 15th
Police in Rolla say a woman who died in a private hospitality room at a medical center apparently overdosed on prescription drugs.
Twenty-five-year-old Stephanie Maylee, of Rolla, was found dead around 10 a.m. Monday at Phelps County Regional Medical Center. Maylee had recently given birth about a month prematurely, and had spent Sunday night at the hospital because her son had not yet been released.
KYTV reports that preliminary findings from an autopsy showed a likely overdose of prescriptions drugs. Investigators said Wednesday they don't know if the overdose was intentional or an accident, but foul play is not suspected.
The room where Maylee was found was initially described by mistake as a public waiting area, not a private hospitality room.
