Man standing in roadway struck and killed

A Bland, Mo. man is dead after being hit by a car on Highway 50 in Osage County.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Justin Pierce, 27, of Bland was standing in the westbound lane of traffic around 5:15 a.m. Monday. That's when authorities believe a 2009 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Michelle Kliethermes, 45 of Linn, struck Pierce.

Pierce was pronounced dead at the scene. This is fatality number three for Troop F in 2012.
