COLUMBIA, MO. -- A confrontation between two men in front of the Columbia Public Library forced a lockdown of Grant Elementary School on Thursday afternoon.

Police said both men were unarmed and did not harm any children.

Investigators said the men were arguing when one man chased the other onto school property.

That’s when one of the men shouted “call 9-1-1” to some children leaving the building.

Both men left on foot.

Police continue to search for them.

The lockdown lasted about a half hour near the end of the school day.
