World War II Veterans receive the Legion of Honor Award

Three World War II veterans from Jefferson City will be presented with the Legion of Honor Award Monday.

The Legion of Honor Award is the highest award bestowed by the French Republic.

Governor Nixon will present the award to Lloyd Cain, Frank Crooks, and Francis "Bud" Jones Monday morning.

The three are being honored for their actions during the liberation of France during the war.

Governor Nixon presented the Legion of Honor to two Mid-Missouri veterans two years ago.
