Man given a citation for selling alcohol to a minor

COLUMBIA -- A Boone County convenience store employee was given a citation after he sold alcohol to a minor.

It happened during the Boone County Sheriff’s Department’s alcohol compliance checks Friday night.

The Department conducted 9 alcohol compliance checks at various businesses in Boone County between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.

During the checks, a person under the age of 21 went into the business and tried to purchase alcoholic beverages.

All but one of the businesses checked were in compliance and did not sell alcoholic beverages to the minor.

In a news release the Sheriff’s Department said Richard Hart, an employee of the Deer Park “Whoa And Go” Break Time store at 6050 East Highway AB in Columbia was issued a citation for the selling intoxicating liquor to a minor.

The following businesses were also checked and did not sell to the undercover minor:

 

  1. Mari’s Convenience Store – 1210 E. Prathersville Rd. in Columbia
  1. Petro Mart 49 Convenience Store – 5481 E. St. Charles Rd. in Columbia
  2. Casey’s General Store – 1011 S. El Chaparral Ave. in Columbia
  3. Casey’s General Store – 500 E. Broadway in Ashland
  4. Bee Line Snack Shop – 530 E. Broadway in Ashland
  5. FastLane Phillips 66 Convenience Store – 602 E. Broadway in Ashland
  6. Break Time Convenience Store – 101 N. Henry Clay Blvd. in Ashland
  7. Bee Line Snack Shop – 21340 S. Mt. Pleasant Rd. in Hartsburg
