Authorities have identified the girl hit by a bullet that went through a house early Friday morning.
Nakesha Berry, 16, is a Jefferson City High School sophomore. Berry said she sleeps in an unusual position and the bullet could have easily gone through her head.
She and her family believe their neighbors are drug dealers and the gunshot was meant for them. Her family said a broken air conditioner unit may be what saved her life as the bullets passed through that before hitting Berry.

The Holts Summit Police Department needs the public’s help in reference to a shooting that sent a girl to the hospital.
Police responded to the 100 block of North Summit Drive around 1:20 a.m. Friday to reports of shots fired and a girl hit by bullets.
Police said shots were fired at the home while the juvenile slept in her bed. Police said the bullets passed through the outside wall of the home and hit her in the leg.
The juvenile was taken to a local hospital for treatment. She is said to be in good condition.
