Moberly Police arrested a man after a standoff at an apartment complex that lasted more than two hours.

Police said they received a call at 11 p.m. about an assault. When they got to the apartment in the 500 block of S. Clark, a 23-year-old woman told police she had been assaulted by Trey Nathanial Midgyett, 26. Midgyett was still at the residence when authorities arrived.

While they were talking to the woman, Midgyett ran into the apartment and locked the door. Authorities secured the building and a tactical team was brought in. Around 1:30 a.m., police unlocked the apartment door and officers found Midgyett hiding under a pile of clothing. He was unresponsive and examined by emergency medical personnel on scene.

Police said he quickly became responsive and refused additional medical attention. He was transported to the Randolph County Justice Center.

Midgyett was previously wanted for failure to appear on an original second degree assault charge. He was also wanted on a St. Louis City/County probation/parole absconder warrant.
