ST. CHARLES (AP) -- A St. Charles County man faces sentencing in March after admitting to a role in the killing of a football player.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 22-year-old Cory Jermaine Brooks of O'Fallon pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree murder and drug conspiracy.
Brandon Joyce was killed in December 2010. Brooks says he and two other men agreed to sell Joyce cocaine. A struggle occurred between Joyce and one of the other men, and Joyce was shot in the head. He died four days later.
Cases are pending against the other suspects.
