JOPLIN (AP) -- Joplin police have arrested a man suspected of killing a 17-year-old boy last week in Illinois.
The Joplin Globe reported that the man was taken into custody Wednesday at a nightclub in the city.
Police Cpl. Chuck Niess says police had received a tip that the man was in Joplin.
The man was arrested on a fugitive warrant from Danville, located about 120 miles south of Chicago and 35 miles east of Champaign-Urbana.
He is wanted in connection with the Dec. 22 slaying of a 17-year-old boy. The name of the teen has been withheld at the request of the coroner's office.
