Two arrested in drug bust, children removed from home

Two Moberly residents are behind bars after authorities found drugs and drug paraphernalia at their home.

Moberly Police said they were at the home assisting the Department of Family Services when they saw drug substances in the home. Police said they secured the home and applied for a search warrant. While searching the home, authorities reportedly found more than two pounds of marijuana, approximately $1,500 cash, items used in packaging and the sale of controlled substances, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and prescription drugs.

Three children were put into protective custody. The children, aged 7 months, 2 years and 7 years were taken to the Randolph County Juvenile Officer and Division of Family Services.

The two adult residents of the home were arrested on suspicion of distribution/delivery/manufacture of controlled substance, keeping or maintaining a public nuisance and endagering the welfare of a child, with bond set at $45,000. Both have posted bond and been released from custody.
