HARTVILLE, MO. (AP) -- Wright County authorities say a southwest Missouri man charged with killing a 4-year-old boy sent cell phone pictures of the boy's body.
Twenty-two-year-old Terry Joe Volner was charged Thursday with first-degree murder in the death of Dusty Guenther. The boy's body was found Wednesday in a lagoon next to the home where his family lived in Wright County.
KY3-TV reports that a probable cause statement contends Volner called his mother Wednesday and said he killed the boy's mother, her boyfriend, and her four kids. Volner then sent a cell phone picture of the boy with his throat cut.
Volner is being held in the Wright County jail on $1 million bond.
