To buy or rent? It's a big question for many adults.
If you are looking to move soon, you may want to know which would be cheaper, or the best fit for your family.
KRCG's Facebook Crew spoke with an expert Thursday to find out what they would recommend right now.
Moving is never fun, especially when you're faced with the decision of whether to buy or rent.
Right now in Mid-Missouri, realtors tell KRCG buying is your best option.
"If you're going to be here for awhile definitely buying is the way to go because you can get exactly what you want. You don't have to have share a wall with neighbors and you don't have to rely on your landlord to do repairs and maintenance,” REMAX's Beth McGeorge said. If you're an owner you can be in charge of that."
McGeorge said if you aren't sure how long you're going to stay in central Missouri, your best option is renting.
Either way, both buying and renting have their pro's and con's.
First if you buy a house you have to pay for the maintenance, but if you rent you don't.
Also if you buy a house usually your payment is fixed, but if you rent your payment could go up at anytime.
Even so, McGeorge tells me the cheapest route is renting.
"If you look at the overall expense I would say renting is probably cheaper because you're not liable to fix things and do repairs,” McGeorge said.
So tell us what you think. What are some of the pro's and con's you've come across in renting or buying?
