COLUMBIA, MO. -- Members of our KRCG WeatherLab Forecast Team are predicting a few snow flurries for tonight and tomorrow for the Mid-Missouri area.

Columbia Public Works crews have 2 new snow plows ready to go.

That makes a total of 22 Columbia trucks to battle the snow this winter.

Drivers completed a dry test run to prepare for slick roads.

Columbia’s salt dome is full to supply snow plow drivers during their routes.

Columbia bridges get special attention during winter conditions.

Columbia Public Works Spokeswoman Jill Stedem said, “We do try and do some pretreatment of the bridge decks.  Those tend to freeze the quickest.  We try to do some pretreatment on those roads.  Remember to allow plenty of room.  Don’t follow the snow plows too closely, if you can keep from it.”

Boone County Emergency Management Officials want everyone to drive a little slower and have the proper supplies in your vehicle during hazardous winter weather conditions.
