COLUMBIA, MO. -- The Missouri Tiger Football Team is going bowling in Shreveport, Louisiana.
The Tigers will take on the North Carolina Tar Heels in this year’s Advocare 100 Independence Bowl on the day after Christmas.
Officials with the Mizzou Alumni Association decided not to host a trip to the Independence Bowl. That means you’re on your own to find a plane ticket and a ticket to the game.
Local travel agents don’t have any packages for the Independence Bowl, but they are getting fans ready to travel to the game.
Travel Consultant Shirley Lin said, “Most of our clients are asking for anywhere from 2 to 4 nights. As of this morning, we had air and hotel packages from St. Louis starting off at about $1200 per couple.”
Lin said Tiger Fans are paying a little more for their airfare because they are competing with passengers that booked their Christmas flights in advance.
This is Mizzou’s third appearance in the Independence Bowl. The Tigers hope to attract as many fans as they can, despite the game being played on the day after Christmas.
