The Appellate Apportionment Commission released Wednesday new boundaries for Missouri House and Senate districts based on the 2012 census.
The commission said the districts required significant changes to account for population shift over the last 10 years.
This is the second time in state history that a panel has had to redistrict both chambers of the General Assembly.
"We have worked collaboratively to draw maps that comply with the constitution, the Voting Rights Act and other legal requirements," Commission Chair Lisa White Hardwick said.
The new districts will take effect during the primary and general 2012 elections. Candidate filing for election to the new districts begins in February.
The committee took over after two bipartisan commissions appointed by the governor were unable to agree on new maps earlier this year.
