A fire in Columbia caused $15,000 worth of damage.

Columbia firefighters responded a little before 5:00 p.m. Tuesday to a fire at a four-plex apartment building in the 3300 block of Jamesdale.

Fire crews say the occupants were already outside when they arrived.

The fire was found in the kitchen, on the stove and in the cabinets above the stove. Crews got the fire out quickly. No one was injured.

Investigators determined the fire was caused by unattended cooking, when an occupant left a pan on the stove.
