Authorities investigate Columbia Dollar General robbery

Columbia Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Dollar General on Vandiver Drive. Police said it happened around 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Police were called to the business at 801 Vandiver Drive where it was determined that a black male or possibly female entered the store, showed a handgun and demanded cash.

Witnesses said the suspect left the scene on foot with some money. No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a black male or female, who was 5'6 to 5'9 tall. Police are looking for a slender person wearing all dark clothing and a mask.

If anyone has any information about the crime, they are asked to call the Columbia Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 875-TIPS.
