JEFFERSON CITY -- A man was taken to the hospital after he was thrown off his motorcycle Saturday night.

The Jefferson City Police Department said it happened just after 10 p.m. at the intersection of W. McCarty St. and Bolivar St.

Police said Steven Beach, 44, was driving westbound on his motorcycle when the front tire started tracking along with the rail road track.

The motorcycle was thrown over onto the left side and Beach was thrown from the motorcycle.

Beach was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for his injuries.

Beach was wearing a novelty helmet not a DOT approved helmet.
