Businesses warned to look for fake cash

The Osage County Sheriff’s Department is advising local businesses to be on the lookout for counterfeit money.

Chief Deputy Rob Relford said the department has seen an increase of counterfeit $10, $20 and $50 bills going around in the community.

Chief Deputy Relford strongly encourages all merchants to pay extra attention to these particular denominations. Relford said you should also check the bills by using of a currency marker or by checking the watermark.

Chief Deputy Relford said that if you receive any counterfeit or suspicious bills, contact the Sheriff’s Department immediately.
