Candidate filing period begins

The filing period for Jefferson City elected offices began Tuesday. Candidates can file at the City Clerk’s Office in City Hall.

There are five city council members, one in each ward, up for re-election. Those terms run for two years.

City officials said there is no fee to file for office. Candidates must have three endorsements from area registered voters. Endorsement forms and more information is available at City Hall or online.

The filing period runs until November 22nd.
