A Columbia man pled guilty to possessing child pornography.
26-year-old Ansel Lenser pled guilty Tuesday in Boone County Circuit Court.
The charges stem from an investigation done by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department Cyber Crimes Task Force.
In Mid-November of last year, an investigator identified a home computer network offering child pornography through a file sharing program. The investigator said they thought the computer was located in Columbia.
In early December, the investigator was able to determine additional child pornography files were being offered from the same location. They were able to determine the specific location in Columbia.
On December 14, 2010 investigators searched the location in question. Officers seized two computers. Officers found about 17 photographs and 13 videos showing the sexual molestation of children. Some of the children were believed to be as young as three to five years of age. Another estimated 50 child pornography files had been deleted from one of the computers prior to the seizure, but was recovered by the Task Force.
As a result of the investigation, officers arrested Lenser. He was charged with possession of child pornography.
Tuesday, the defendant plead guilty in Boone County Court. Sentencing is scheduled for December.
