Update: Wednesday, October 5th at 8:30 a.m.:

Jefferson City Police are investigating two armed robberies that happened Tuesday.

Officers said the first one happened Tuesday evening at the Subway sandwich shop in the 900 block of Eastland Drive. An employee said a man came into the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The clerk wouldn't hand over money, and the man left the store without cash. No one was hurt.

Police said the suspect's description from the Subway attempted robbery is similar to a robbery that happened later Tuesday night.

Around 10:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Break Time Convenience Store, at 1907 East McCarty Street, for a robbery that just occurred.

According to an employee, a man entered the business, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The clerk gave the suspect money. The suspect fled. No one was hurt during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white male, medium height and medium build, with a dark ball cap and blue bandana across his face.

Police said while the descriptions are similar, there is no certainty that the two incidents are connected.
